Offline documents, encrypted on every device
Court rooms, client sites and long drives don’t come with reliable internet. Your documents now work without it.

What you can do offline
The editor now ships inside the desktop and mobile apps. Recent documents, and any you pin, are kept on the device so you can open and edit Word documents, spreadsheets, PDFs and text files with no connection at all.
Encrypted, and self-locking
Offline copies are stored in an AES-256-GCM encrypted vault, with a key held in the device’s secure keychain. Each copy is bound to the user and document it belongs to. The vault locks if the device hasn’t checked in for 30 days, and it’s erased on sign-out or when the person loses access.
Merging without surprises
When you reconnect, Asem takes a checkpoint and merges your edits, recording who, when and on which device, and the merge can be undone. If the document was reset or replaced while you were away, your version is saved as a copy beside the original. Nothing is overwritten and nothing is lost.
We wrote up how this works on the engineering blog.
