How we write our guides
Our guides are written by the Asem Legal editorial team for managing partners, lawyers and practice managers at Ghanaian firms. Every guide follows the same rules:
- Primary sources first. Statements about the law come from the statute, legislative instrument or regulator, and section numbers are quoted only when we have checked them against the text.
- Sources listed. Each guide ends with the sources it relied on, so you can read the law yourself.
- Dated and reviewed. Every guide shows when it was last updated, and we revise guides when the law or regulator guidance changes.
- Information, not advice. Guides explain the law in general terms; they are not legal advice for a particular matter.
- Clear about our product. Where a guide mentions Asem Legal, it says what the product does today, nothing more.
